    Because it opened in LA this year. Had it been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film last year it would be eliminated from eligability this year. Basically, it's now being treated as if it were a domestic film.

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I was wondering about that, City of God was getting tons of praise yet I never saw it make the FF list.

    Haven't seen The Barbarian Invasions either, I heard some comparing it to Big Fish in ways (which I also have not seen). Really like most us yanks I don't get to see any of these until they reach DVD.

    I think City of God comes out in a couple of days. I highly recommend it.

    </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I think the only comparison you can o between Les Invasions Barbares and Big Fish is the difficult relationship between a father and a son but while Big Fish is a "fantasy" movie ? la Burton, Les Invasions Barbares is really down to earth.
